Peeling or flaking paint
Paint that lifts in sheets usually has moisture behind it or was originally applied over dirt. It has to be scraped back to sound paint everywhere before anything new goes on.

Walls, trim and doors inside, siding and porches outside, and the house, deck and drive washed clean. Quoted the same way as the big jobs: free, in person, one price.

Most painting calls we get are rooms inside, the siding and trim outside, or a house that mostly needs a good wash. Most of a good paint job is the work before the paint, from filling and caulking to scraping, and we quote it all as one price.
Dirt, mildew and red clay come off first, so the new paint has something clean to hold on to.
Loose paint is scraped away, holes and cracks are filled, and the trim joints are caulked tight.
Bare wood and every patch get primer, so the finish coats dry to an even color and an even sheen everywhere.
Usually two finish coats go on, applied in dry weather so the paint can cure the way it should.

Holes are filled, trim is caulked and the walls usually get two coats of paint. The floors and the furniture stay covered with drop cloths while we are working.

A washed and completely dry deck or porch is stained to protect the wood from sun and rain. The stain also evens out the color between the older boards and any newer replacements.
Loose paint is scraped away and bare wood is primed before the finish coats go on. We paint outside in dry weather, because paint that cures properly usually lasts years longer.
Mildew, red clay and everyday grime are washed off the house, the deck and the drive. On wood and siding the pressure stays low enough not to tear up the surface.
A good house wash usually starts by wetting the walls and the plants along them. Wet siding takes the cleaner more evenly, and the flower beds underneath stay protected.
Siding and wood get a lower pressure and the right cleaner for the surface. That combination lifts the dirt and mildew without tearing up the surface underneath.
Everything is rinsed thoroughly from the top down, so nothing streaks or leaves a residue behind. If paint or stain comes next, the surface needs to dry out completely first.
Humid summers, spring pollen and red clay splash all work on a house around Carrollton, Villa Rica, Douglasville and Newnan. These four signs usually show up first, on the shady side or the sunny one.
Paint that lifts in sheets usually has moisture behind it or was originally applied over dirt. It has to be scraped back to sound paint everywhere before anything new goes on.
Ask about thisRub the siding with your hand, and if it comes away white, the paint has broken down in the sun, so a fresh coat usually goes on after a thorough wash and a full day of drying.
Ask about thisGreen or black growth on the north side or under trees is usually mildew, living on the surface. A low-pressure wash with the right cleaner usually takes it off without harming the paint.
Ask about thisWindow sills, door trim and porch railings usually lose their paint first, because water sits on them. Bare wood left exposed to the weather usually starts to rot within a few seasons.
Ask about thisA paint job is quoted on your house at the visit, because the prep work usually decides the price more than the paint itself does. These four things usually move the number the most, inside or outside the house.
One price for the whole job before any work starts, and nothing starts until you say yes.
A two-story house in Newnan needs ladders on every side, while a one-story ranch in Bowdon usually goes faster, because more wall usually means more paint, more ladders and more time.
Windows, doors, shutters and porch rails are cut in by hand one edge at a time, so a house with a lot of decorative trim usually takes longer than one with plain walls.
Peeling paint has to be scraped and bare wood primed before any finish goes on. Soft trim boards get replaced first, because paint will not hold on rotten wood for long.
Going from a dark color to a light one, or the other way around, usually takes an extra coat, so staying close to the color you have now is usually the least expensive choice.

Yes. We paint walls, ceilings, trim and doors inside the house, and siding, trim, doors and porches outside it. Painting is often the final step on our remodels and our siding repairs across West Georgia.
Not when it is done right, because siding and wood get a lower pressure and the right cleaner. The goal is to lift the dirt and mildew, not to strip the surface underneath.
Usually, yes, because paint holds far longer on a clean, dry surface. That is the reason our exterior paint jobs usually begin with a wash.
Yes. We wash the deck, let it dry out completely and then stain it. If any of the boards need replacing first, we tell you before we start the stain.
No. The quote is free, and we give it in person, usually the same day you call or the next day. You get one price for the whole job before anything starts, and nothing starts until you agree.
